Today, Mr. Picketts took us downstairs to watch the roller coasters that the 12th graders made a few days ago. It was a very entertaining experience I should say. There were about seven roller coasters, I don't remember the exact number. They were all great, but I liked the jungle one the best. It didn't have a really elaborate background, but the roller coaster ride was the best. Of all of the rides, not one failed, they were all succesful. What really surprised me was the neatness and speed that the ball had when traveling through the game. Plus, they put several balls at the same time when starting a ride, whereas the other teams only inserted a single ball. This was my 12th grade roller coaster experience. Thank you Mr. Picketts!

Robotec Reflection :3
Today during computers class, we experienced something we have never experienced before. This guy called Abraham, from Tec de Monterrey in campus Guadalajara, came to visit the school and explained us the functions of robots. He taught us many things, but only a few really caught my attention, things that were new to me. I was totally surprised by the ultrasonic sensor that works like two eyes. This sensor locates things that are in front of the robot by using ultrasonic waves, just like bats. I was also really surprised by the sensor located at the bottom part of the robot. This sensor searches for certain colors or specific ground conditions. You can tell the robot how to move or what to do when the sensor steps over a certain ground condition. For example, Abraham showed us how his mini robot stopped at the white color, turned around, and walked through black and gray colors. It was a really cool experience, and I hope we can see something similar in the future. I wanted to go to the actual robot battle here at the school, but unfortunately, I have to go to the city of Monterrey to visit my brother and go see a concert of a music group called Panda.

THIS IS ME! :D
My name is Rodrigo, I was born in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I have been here for my entire life, I've been to the United States, but just for vacations. I want to visit Bangkok one day, and I hope you visit Mexico one day, come visit Puerto Vallarta if you can! My house is in front of a movie theater called "Cinepolis". It was actually the best movie theater in town back in the day, but it's old nowadays, the newest and most convinient one is called "MMCinemas" and it is located at the "Galerias Vallarta" mall. Now I will talk more about myself. I love skateboarding, it is my greatest passion at the moment, playing guitar is also my greatest passion, I love them both equally. I go skating every weekend, I never miss a single skating session, it's just great to skate with my friends, I love them so much, I wouldn't change them for anything in the world. I don't know if you really know about this stuff, but I'll tell you what skateboarding brands I use. I use Element decks, Thunder trucks, Pig wheels, Pig bearings, Pig griptape, Pig risers, and Destructo hardware. I use DC shoes to ride my skateboard.
I spent my kindergarden education at the "ISPAC" school, and my elementary school at the "British American School", I just changed to the "American School of Puerto Vallarta" for my first year of Junior High, although I'm in second grade now. My name is Rodrigo, but I like to be called Rod, I have lots of best friends, I love them all, and they love me, it's a loving and caring cycle. I just participated at the talent show of the year on November 26th and I got first place. I was really surprised about that, I'm really happy, I played a song called "Sofa song" by "The Kooks" I hope you get a chance to listen to it. Tell your teachers to play it for you during class! That would be a great idea.
I got to go now, I hope I hear great things from you, I'm looking forward to it, take care.
Rod

Listening

In Mr. Picketts class today, we heard other people's assignments by using Audacity and Movie Maker for about 2 minutes per computer. I didn't had a sound that I used the most, I changed every sound like every 12 seconds, I think I was creative. Other people used clapping a lot, it was something popular. I couldn't do the crab scratch, I really tried to, I even tried using "hand help" to beat box it like Felix Zenger, but I'm just unable to do it. It is a professional beat box sound, and I don't there's even one unprofessional person that knows how to do that sound.

Audacity Project
We just made an Audacity song project with Mr. Picketts, it was really fun. I got my ideas of beat boxing throughout the entire song thanks to Felix Zenger, a famous beat boxer in the United States. He inspired me to do my project this way, and I really admire him. It was a little doing the whole project, since it’s kind of hard to get that many sounds, but I was able to overcome my obstacle. I learned LOTS of things during the process of this project. Now I know how to export an audacity project to MP3 and I generally know how to use Audacity, I didn’t even know how to record something at first. I think that my project was really creative, I am really confident about my final result and I hope everyone likes it. If I needed to describe all of this in one word it would be entertaining.

I really enjoyed listening and paying attention to other Audacity projects. They really cool and I think everybody did a great job. I enjoyed Sofia's mash-up the best, it had this techno rhythm combined with a pop beat. It was a really cool mix, and I'm looking forward to hear to other of Sofia's mixes. My team did a great job, and so did I. I used Halloween sounds only, but I put effort into it.
I hope I can work with Audacity again on the future.
